Bookshelf Installation Instructions
It's simple!

Choose a good location for your bookshelf.
Mark a level line on the wall approximately the
length of your book cover.

For the most accurate results, especially on thick books, draw your line where the hardware on the back of the book comes closest to the wall (usually toward the top of the book).
Place two marks on the level line 4-3/4" apart.

For most accurate results, mark the center of your line and place your ruler or tape measure's 2-3/8 mark on the center of the line, then place a mark at 0" and one at 4-3/4".
Use a drill with a 1/4" drill bit and drill a hole on your marks at least 1-1/2" deep.
Push the supplied anchors into the holes.
Put screws into anchors and  leave approximately 3/8" - 1/2" of the screw sticking out of the anchor.

The anchors should be gripping the wall material firmly at this point - you should not be able to pull the screws out of the wall.
This phase is trial and error. Take a breath, you're almost done.

Take note of the keyhole hardware on the back of the book. Notice how the hole is wider at one side of the hardware - line up the screw heads with the wider opening in the hardware and slide the book so that the screw heads slide toward the more narrow end. (This is generally a left to right motion)
Your bookshelf may feel very loose at this point, or perhaps it was to tight to get the screw heads engaged in the hardware. You will have to move the screws in or out to acheive a good, strong fit.

Turn screws clockwise to tighten the fit, counter clockwise to loosen.

Do not assume that both screws need to be at the same extension from the wall.
You have acheived total Bookshelf installation when the book slides on the screws and is pulled tightly agaist the wall as you slide the book left to right. You should need to use the heel of your hand to firmly bump the book to get  it to seat compleatly.

Check for looseness - wiggle the book - you may have acheived correct tension on one fastener but be experiencing looseness on the other. Adjust screws and retry. You'll get it!
Ta Da!!!  It floats!

Check your installation before placing any items of great sentimntal value on the shelf. A properly installed shelf can easily hold 5lbs of cargo.

When properly installed, a bookshelf will need quite a firm and deliberate bump (right to left) to remove it from the wall.
